Mason Advisory is taking on the 'Big Team Challenge' - Route 66

Date:

March 2021

The Big Team Challenge is designed for everyone, regardless of physical ability, age, geography or computer literacy.

Mason Advisory are taking part in  ‘The Big Team Challenge‘!  We’ve split the company into teams of six and each team will be aiming to get their kicks by virtually walking, running or cycling all 2,248 miles of Route 66 in twelve weeks. Route 66 is the quintessential embodiment of the road and all its greatest promises: freedom and serendipity, kitsch and living history, and it gave rise to new towns and new industries as Americans travelled west towards a better life.  The Mason Advisory teams will be attempting to re-create this experience in the UK, whilst maintaining a healthy social distance and not leaving their local area.

The six teams below, I wonder if you could guess who the team captains are?

As well as being great for the team’s wellbeing, it will also keep us active and connected during lockdown.  It’s a great challenge as all the team can participate and it doesn’t matter how fit you are – we all walk! The teams real-world physical activities are mapped onto a virtual route and the team’s goal is to reach the end of the route in Santa Monica by the time the challenge ends. As the team track their activity, they will progress along the virtual route. A map will show them where they are along the route, and the leader board will allow them to see all the different team’s rankings.

We’ll be providing updates via social media, so let the challenge begin, it should be fun.

Good Luck to everyone involved!
