Date:

August 2018

Mason Advisory works with university to encourage women in business and technology

Mason Advisory is pleased to announce that it will be encouraging women in business and technology subjects through a Development Trust Scholarship at Loughborough University from the start of the next academic year. The three-year commitment will support a high-achieving, female student from an area under-represented in higher education using government-approved measures[1].

The selected student will be joining Loughborough University in September and, studying for a degree in one of the following subjects: Business and Economics, Computer Science, Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Engineering Management and Systems Engineering, or Mathematical Sciences.

Steve Watmough, Mason Advisory CEO, says: “I have positive memories of the time I spent studying on the MBA programme at Loughborough University, and as a company we are proud to be involved in helping fund a university education for someone who might otherwise have struggled with fees due to their circumstances. Mason Advisory and many other companies are finding that women are not sufficiently represented in the tech industry and supporting a female student on the Development Trust Scholarship will hopefully play a small part in encouraging and helping more women to find careers in this area.

“We look forward to following the students’ progress throughout the three years and wish all students on the scholarship programme the best of luck in their studies.”
